Scarlet Moon, Sunlit Skies

Scarlet Moon, Sunlit Skies was formed from the remnants of various formed group projects that've either sat on indefinite hiatus, or have ceased to exist altogether. Initially, it was created with just one purpose in mind: to create, and publish music. To get it out there.

Because of where this project came from, I formed it as a solo project, and intend for it to stay that way. In all of my groups, our musical 'goal' has always been to achieve something noisy, punky, and loud. While that is still part of me, it's far from what SMSS is. My goal for SMSS is to be overwhelming, all encompassing, noisy yet persistent, musical yet abstract. As is in the biography for the project on Bandcamp, SMSS is 'music for the stars'.

That whole space theme came from my love of space as a kid. That love extended into my teen years, and funnily enough, ended around the time I got into music. The love for the stars turned into a frustration at what the world has turned space into. Turning it into a goal, rather than something to be admired—a profit, rather than an object of admiration.

Musically, then, I suppose that can be translated to meaning something along the lines of, "I make music that tries to be as horrifyingly beautiful and overwhelming as space, but also encapsulates the anger that's surrounded the topic for me."
